Perhaps I would have also felt the same way if I had to lose my laptop. Having said that electronic devices tend to go bad. You can contact one of our Dell authorized service providers in Romania and ask for the replacement mother board cost and service charge to install. The problem could be with the video card or the LCD itself. Please connect an external desktop monitor to the laptop when you get to see the black screen and switch the display by pressing Fn and F8. If you get a good display on the external monitor while the LCD remains black, it indicates the video card is working fine.
Check in Power Options if the display or the system is set to turn itself off at a specific time. Update the video drivers to the latest version available at the support site.
I have tried with an external display (23 inch LCD) and it works.. and sometime the display gives me this error "Input not supported" or "No signal" but some times it works.. and sometime when i power on the laptop it have some blue dotted vertical lines but i can see DELL bios logo and other tings. (those lines are appearing on external monitor too).
If the issue appears on both the LCD and the external desktop monitor, I am sure the issue is with the video card. The video card may be failing gradually. I would suggest you to update the video drivers and check if that helps. If issue persists, the mother board will have to be replaced as video card is integrated on to the system board.
I have installed the latest nvidia nvs quadro 135m driver. as the mother board where i can buy it ?
By the way... i'm from romania.
I love this laptop and it comes with 4gb ram and a pretty good processor core 2 duo, and that for an office job is very good laptop and also the design look is grate!
