i believe i dont have issues with hardware coz diagnostics didnt find any problems when i run it. I solved the issue on dell logo freezing. Last issue i am currently having trouble with is when i used win 8 to reset it and have a clean install it. My intel rapid storage seems to be ok coz in irst manager it has enhanced mode on. The problem is i continue to recieve an error message that my intel rapid START technology is dissabled. But in my bios it is enabled.

The question is. Do i have to reconfigure rapid storage again by making a partition or i just follow the steps in making a partition for rapid start? I believe its for hybernation. Hope someone can clarify this.

Secondly, what if i do a dell factory restore, will that save me the trouble of crating partitions for this? Does that recovery image contains correct settings for irst stuff? I remmember when i first turned on this laptop, i have no issues at all. I connected to the net and i found no error messages, until i shutdowned and when i openned it again, was stuck on dell logo. Resetting in windows was the first thing i did. And i solved the stuck logo thing but the rapid START is giving me a hard time researching. If dell factory image restore to factory settings can help me, i am gladly gonna give that a try first coz i believe if i restore using win 8 it is different that dells image restore???

I am running out of time on my warranty. I dont wanna return this laptop for exchage of other brands coz to me i think this is better than suny vayo... Cheers. Hope i can solve this. So others can too. For newbies like me. Thanks.

Hi Joel B. Bianzon,

For Intel Rapid Storage to function properly an SSD must be installed on the system. If your system was shipped with a SSD then you might need to re-associate the SSD. You may follow the steps below to get the rapid storage working again :

Restart the computer and check if the Intel Rapid Storage is functioning.

If the issue persists, you may try restoring the computer to factory settings using Dell Factory Restore as it is different from Windows 8 Reset option. The Dell factory restore takes the computer back to factory settings i.e. it takes the computer back to first day when you purchased the system with all preinstalled and preconfigured software state, however, Windows 8 reset completely formats the system and reinstalls the Windows OS.

Note : Dell Factory Restore leads to data loss, ensure that you have backed up the data before performing the step.

Hope this helps. Please reply with the findings.

Thanks for ur response sir. But that didnt answered my question unfortunately. I think my intel rapid storage has no issues because i can see a check in its icon and it is enhanced when i open the irst manager, the rapid start is the one giving error mesage when i turn on laptop from shutdown. Says rapid start is disabled. But in my bios it is enabled.

I think ill try dells reset not windows 8s reset. Gonna make a image back up first.

Just one quick question sir. Does dells image restores the original partitions as the same as the fist time i turned it on?

Ill keep u informed after i tried dells reset.

Sad to say didnt work on Dell recovery. having problems configuring isrt. Still have error message when turning on my laptop that my intel rapid start technology is disabled. Am i the only one who hasnt figured this out. If i disable rapid start in bios, it affects disk accelleration becomes disabled. Has any one fixed this issue! Windows 8.

Hi Joel B. Bianzon,

As you have reset the OS, the IRST needs to be reconfigured as the previous association with the SSD is no longer valid and though it is showing a check icon in IRST manager, it still requires re-association . I would suggest you to try the above steps.

Yes, the dell recovery takes the computer back to first day i.e the first day you used the system. However, as you have reset the OS, the Dell recovery might not work.

Please reply with the findings.
