Hi, it's an Insprion B130 (old but only one I got) w/XP Home. Yes monitor works on other computers. and I've tried 2 different VGA cables (one for monitor & one that goes with converter box out to regular tv-neither one receives signals now. thanks

Yeah, I tried it. I'd been using that for a couple of years. I just wish I knew what part I need to replace -the broken screen still lights up but there's no signal going out thru that VGA connection. I very much appreciate you taking time to help.

I've tried it after connecting the monitor on running computer, I tried starting computer with everything hooked up first. I was using the ext. monitor when it failed. So I just gotta figure out what the failed hardware is, if it is the hardware????

Oh thank you! Do you know if they make motherboards for such an old computer? (an XP home  from many yearsago) And, can I replace it myself?
