zpaul5,

Try setting up a different BIOS password.

Ouch!   I thought your suggestion was going to work.   I made a new password and it worked - once.  After that, as soon as I entered the password the system turned off.  No error or wrong password message.  Just instant off.   Is there a problem with the A 23 bios??     Ron

zpaul5,

Very strange issue! It seems like you need a new motherboard (to have the BIOS chip replaced).

I would try a factory reset while in the BIOS - F9 or Alt+F, I forget.
