Whaich PCI Card are you using? Some PCI cards require that they be on the Primary PCI bus, and the docking stations are actually on the secondary PCI bus. The Belkin 5-port PCI card has worked for several people...
I've got a CPx J with a CII dock. I just installed a USB2.0 PCI card in the dock and now every time I boot up or resume from Suspend or Hibernate, I get the "Press F1 to cvontinue, press F2 to run the set-up utility" thing. I tried pressing F2 and checked all the settings, but it doesn't seem to change, it still does this when I re-boot.
I'm running XP Pro and have the latest BIOS installed (A16). The USB 2.0 PCI card is from Micro Solutions. Can anyone help me?? I've tried re-installing the driver with no success, and the Micro Solutions web page is no help.
Another interesting fact: my friend has a Dell C610 running the latest BIOS, running Win2000 Pro, and he doesn't get the message when booting in my dock.

It is a Adaptec card. Is there anyway around it?
I just took my work laptop home, which is a 1.0G latitude. It doesn't seem to have the same problem!
