Have you tried updating the Video Drivers? If not, click here and visit the “Drivers & Downloads for Inspiron E1505” page on our support site. Download and update the Video Drivers and check if the option is available when pressing Fn + F8 key.
One more problem - in loading the audio driver - I still cannot get the volume to work - installation states that the device in not supported or not present - not sure how to solve this problem
There are two audio drivers listed on the support site. Ensure that you are installing the correct drivers. You can check the “Device Manager” for the correct Audio Card in the machine. To check the Audio Card in “Device Manager”:
Press “Windows + R” key on the keyboard to launch “Run Dialog Box”.
Type “devmgmt.msc” in the “Run Dialog Box” and hit Enter.
Expand “Sound, video and game controllers” and check for the available devices.
Download the matching drivers for the listed device from the support website.
