Hi Farukh Mukhamedov,

Good to know that you found a solution. However the link you have provided is not opening. In case you need any assistance, kindly revert.

You may use third party tool to backup and restore Windows activation.

Hi gelenamd,

I would like to know when the system was purchased. Inspiron laptops purchased after November 2009 are eligible for My Dell Downloads registration. Let me also the Operating system on the system.

Also I would like to know if you purchased the system through Dell or from retailers that sells Dell computers. In case you purchased through retailers, you may click on the link below to register your computer.

Points to be noted while registering for My Dell Downloads:

1) You should only use Internet Explorer to register or for creating account but can use IE or Mozilla for downloading after successful registration.

2) In order to download the Software successfully all IE users need Microsoft .NET Framework version “ 3.5 SP1 “ as minimum requirement Please install the Microsoft.net framework version 3.5 SP 1 using the following link:

3) Please right click on the IE icon and then click on 'run as administrator'

4) The Active-x component should be allowed to run.

5) First allow to show hidden folders and then delete everything in the apps/2.0 Folder i.e. C:\Users\Customer_Login_Name _ Folder\AppData\Local\Apps\2.0

Let me know if this helps. Please reply to this post for further assistance.

Hello DELL-Sujatha K,

I bought  this laptop on 24 May 2012 in Moscow, Russia from a retailer.

The OS version, which was installed originally is "Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium OA CIS and GE" (the sticker is on the bottom of the laptop), but I've also ordered the"Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate" in the same shop with the "while-you-wait" installation. I don't have the media on me now, as for the last year I'm in London, UK.

I made everything in the very same order as you wrote, but the page is still after I click on the green button.

My .NET version is v4.0.30319 and IE version is 9.

Hi gelenamd,

I would like to know, if you are trying to restore the system to the factory installed state or if you have already performed that step. If you have already restored your system to the factory installed state and are you trying to install other application?

Hi Sujatha,

Right now I want to reinstall OS, as I'm planning to upgrade to SSD.

I believe that I found the solution where I do not need to download the media from Dell.

"

The only question for now is - is it legal for me to backup and restore Windows activation with the ABRbeta.exe tool?

Many thanks,
