Thats Legacy/ Legacy option Rom.

If you are booting from media do that but OS like 8.x than switch to UEFI firmware Settings

Hi,

Please follow the steps mentioned below to enable UEFI boot:

  • Restart the computer and tap F2 at Dell logo.
  • Under "BOOT" Change the Boot list option to UEFI.
  • Load Legacy option ROM: Disabled.
  • Then enable “Secure boot”.
  • Now tap F10 to Save and Exit.

Please reply if you have any further questions.

Do note that if you change to UEFI, you'll have to reinstall Windows from scratch again.

UEFI requires that Windows be installed to a disc partitioned with the GPT scheme - if you were using a legacy BIOS mode, it will have been partitioned as MBR, meaning you will need to wipe the drive back to bare metal and reload the OS from scratch.

Why? Why do I need to reinstall Windows? I am only changing my options in the BIOS?

If you installed Windows with the hard drive in MBR (legacy) mode, you'll need to wipe the drive and then change the system over to UEFI -- UEFI requires a GPT disc, not an MBR one.

This will require a complete reinstall of Windows.
