14Z N411Z laptop screen issues. No backlight, but there is a picture

I have a 14Z N411Z laptop, and about a week ago the screen would occasionally flicker. Now, it won't light up at all. You can see a faint image on the screen, it's just the back light that isn't working. I tried replacing the screen, but that did not help. Neither did a new cable. As far as I can tell, it does not have a replaceable inverter because of the LED screen.

External monitors work great as well.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I need this back up and running for school.

About the only thing left is the mainboard - that's the next thing to replace.

Hello Carblekin,

I would also agree with Ejn63. It seems to be an issue with the motherboard. The connector on the motherboard for the LCD cable.
