Ok here is the interface file i have 2 different ones one is right by the router the other is about 25 to 30 feet away in another room just down the hall
There is 1 interface on the system:
Name : Wireless Network Connection Description : Broadcom 802.11g Network Adapter GUID : 5193d2c1-3922-41a6-b500-3eac3f913e61 Physical address : 70:1a:04:5e:4a:68 State : connected SSID : Whitworth BSSID : 5c:57:1a:8f:aa:a0 Network type : Infrastructure Radio type : 802.11g Authentication : WPA2-Personal Cipher : CCMP Connection mode : Auto Connect Channel : 11 Receive rate (Mbps) : 54 Transmit rate (Mbps) : 54 Signal : 76% Profile : Whitworth
If you're having problems when you're leaving the room, I would suggest checking the antenna wireless on the wireless adapter. Page 31 in the Dell Inspiron 14(1440) Manual explains how to check the antenna wires.
now there was at one time i accidentally pulled one of the end's of the antenna wire completely off but i was able to crimp it back on but i will look into trying to replace both antenna wires and see if that helps thank you very much for your help.
I also have another question i have this laptop set to go to sleep mode when you close the lid but it doen't go to sleep mode when you close the lid i have checked the magnet in the lid its very strong so my only thought is the sensor in the motherboard that controles that is shot or bad.
When I switch on my Dell Inspiron, following message comes from Driver Detective. Secondly My WiFi works well but when I gonna download some thing or when I talk on skype after some time it goes dissconnected.

Mikie19598,
I would suggest How to login to your wireless router I would first try changing the security from WPA2-Personal to WPA-PSK(TKIP) Security(Personal)
I use these Recommended Wireless Router Settings and I use channel 11. There may be something the the recommended settings that will help.
If you're having problems when you're leaving the room, I would suggest checking the antenna wireless on the wireless adapter. Page 31 in the Dell Inspiron 14(1440) Manual explains how to check the antenna wires.
