Hi Raghuveer,

To disable BIOS password, boot the computer into BIOS. Under”Security”  ensure “Supervisor password and User password needs to be cleared” and Password on Boot should be “disabled”.

As the BIOS is locked, kindly private message me the service tag of the computer. To private message click Here, then click "Send a Private Message".

Awaiting your response!

Hi everyone,

Unfortunately due to improper testing/development by Dell & Pheonix there is only one solution, at-least if its the same problem as mine(original post). And is also the solution if you don't know the BIOS password. That is, to replace the hardware storing the BIOS password.

The solution that the Dell will suggest: Is to replace the Motherboard, which they said will cost me 10K to 12K INR. Dell said they will not replace the particular component on Motherboard, but the entire motherboard.

What I did, and I suggest you to do the same : I took my laptop to a good laptop repair shop in Mumbai, who changed re-soldered a new component on the motherboard. Costing me around 1K INR, and everything has been running perfectly till now.

PS: I have already spent countless hours with dell and technicians, this was the only solution.

I just did the exact same thing as the original poster.  I have called Dell and have been given my master password to no avail.

I am livid.

I have been using a BIOS password since I purchased it but just bought a new hard drive for it and was re-installing windows.  I didn't want to have to type my password every time Windows did a restart while updating so I went in to remove it.

My BIOS version was the current.

Technical support is confused by the "Unlock Key Hint Number" that is provided and has no desire to know it.  This 'hint' changes every time I make three mistakes.

I removed my CMOS battery.  This did not resolve my issue and the computer made alarming noises until I reset it.

If I can find a mailing address I am mailing them a nasty letter.

I believe there is a disconnect between Dell and the password hints that the updated BIOSes are creating.

The master password that Dell provided me worked the first time I had a lockout problem back around 2011.

On this most recent occasion I ordered a preprogrammed BIOS chip from eBay.  I removed the old one and soldered the new one on.

My laptop has been working perfectly since.

Good luck.
