I am sorry about the situation, if possible please try with another HDMI cable and check if the issue persists? Also try changing the screen resolution in the laptop and check if the issue persists.
Just tried to change the resolution to higher and the screen looks ok, but there is a black space on every side of the screen. It doesn't fills the whole screen. If I change the resolution to lower there is no change in the colors. The default resolution of the laptop and the TV is 1366x768 and it's marked as recommended.
I don't have another HDMI cable to try, but I tried to connect another laptop and it works fine, so I think the cable is working properly.
