Hi Max,

May I know the Operating system installed?

Check if the issue persists in Safemode with networking. Restart the computer and tap F8 at Dell logo and select Safemode with networking.

You may also uninstall and reinstall the Touchpad drivers:

Uninstall:

  • Click on the Start button and then choose Control Panel.
  • Click on the System and Security link.
  • In the System and Security window, click on the Device Manager link located under the System heading. Under “Keyboard”, right click the touchpad device and click “Uninstall”.
  • Check the box “Delete driver software for this device”, click ok and follow the on-screen instructions to uninstal.
  • Restart the computer.

Install:

Let me know how it goes.

Hi Rajesh

Thanks a lot for your help!

Forgot to mention I am using Windows 7.

I tried to uninstall the driver via Device Manager. I found Touchpad under "Mice and other pointing devices" and not under "Keyboard", but hopefully that's what you meant, right?

The funny thing is that after the driver was uninstalled + reboot - the touchpad seems to work OK again (more specifically, it started working right after uninstall, even before reboot).

Things look OK for now. It is mandatory to install the driver, via the link you had mentioned?

Thanks a lot,

Max.
