CASTLEGATES,

There will never be a recall on this monitor. Your post makes no sense. A monitor does not have a built-in graphics card? I have no idea what you are trying to say has failed? The DVI port on the monitor or the the DVI port on the computer video card? Are you saying you bought the U2412M from Amazon or are you saying you bought computer video cards from Amazon?

Perhaps I misspoke, but the symptoms are all the same. It coudl be a display port (the issue is with a card immediately after the display port itself) like a card reader that affects HD viewing. Whatever it is, there are no parts for sale I could find to replace it myself and this is the second monitor I have had with this exact same problem. THe white port does not function at all and the blue port displays an extremely blurry picture. Most report their monitor appears to be asleep (that's when the white DVI-d port is plugged in. Forgive me if I misspoke about the specific part inside, but whatever it is, I was told it was a known issue when I called and had my first replacement the same week I purchased this (I was told the refurbishes switch these cards out and resell them because they often go bad). I'm just going my what I was told. Alll I know is I have a second monitor called u2412m that does not function and I feel a pit in my stomach for spending that kind of money for not even a year of returns.

I have not heard of a systemic issue with the U2412M DVI and VGA ports.
* I am assuming that you are only testing using the DVI and VGA cables we supplied on those three computers?
* Is the computer video resolution set to 1920x1200?
* Open the U2412M Menu OSD (On Screen Display)
* Go to Other Settings -Factory Reset -Reset All Settings
* Go to Color Settings and choose RGB, PC, Standard

Yes, I've done lots of initial stuff troubleshooting--I've spent several days (going on 2 weeks now) researching and calling people about it and this is the same thing that happened with the first time it was replaced. The monitor has these issues with two cables and three computers. The white port doesn't function at all (your cable, or my own). The blue one reveals a picture that's very fuzzy, nearly unable to read.

I would return it to Amazon and then purchase one directly from our website. If they say no, follow these instructions to see if Dell will exchange it.

Hi Chris

Please can you post instructions to get Dell to replace it. I have a PC with 3 monitors. All connected via display port. All three have stopped working on DVI and DP. I have tested on different laptops and PC. All other kit is fine

Purchased from CostCo, Walmart, Best Buy, Amazon, Buy.com, generic reseller, etc.
Because you did not purchase the monitor directly from Dell, you must follow these steps below -
* Save the invoice from the store. Based on the purchase date on that invoice, we will warranty the monitor for 3 years. If you ever need a monitor replacement, you will need to contact Dell Order Support (not Technical Support) for your country. You will provide to them via email a picture or PDF of the original invoice showing us the purchase date, and your information. If you lose the original invoice, we will not warranty the monitor. So you would provide the following data to the Order Support representative if you ever need a monitor replacement:
Brick or Online Store =
Purchase date =
Monitor Model =
Monitor 20 digit PPID serial number =
[Your]
Email =
Name =
Shipping Address =
Phone =
