I would suggest you to run an LCD BIST (Built In Self-Test)

Run the Laptop Built-In Self-Test (BIST)
To run the Built-In Self-Test perform the following:

1. Turn the computer off.
2. Press and hold the D key while pressing the power button. This will start the BIST.
3. The screen will display multiple flashing colors. Look for the same issues you have observed.
   
   Connect to an external monitor (if available)
   
   Please reply with your findings.

You will need to replace the display panel with a new one.

Thank you for the update. Since you are getting a clear display on an external display it could be a possible hardware issue with either the LCD cable or the LCD itself. However try moving the lid when the system is on and check if display flickers if it does then it’s an issue with cable or else it is an issue with LCD.
