spybot

Question

Is spybot working right? The last 2 times I used it I checked for updates before I ran it. It says my system is clean. Ad aware found 24 items after I ran spybot.Has anyone else run into this problem? thanks sandavis

Welcome to the Dell Community Forum (DCF).
I run several of those programs. None of them are 100%. I have run SpyBot, SpyHunter, SpySweeper, and Ad Aware. Depending on when they update their servers, some are going to have more updated information than others. I simplified and now run Ad aware, Spybot, and HouseCall.Antivirus.com on a weekly basis.

Spybot S&D and ad-aware have never found exactly the same items.  That is why you need to run both of them.

After you unzip the files, right click on 'ie-ads.reg' and select 'merge'

It will be one of the files in the folder you unzip too

By using Windows Explorer (Windows key + e) then go to C: drive then the ie-spyad folder where the ie-spyad.exe unzips the files.

Sorry to be so dumb I know how to download the program and unzip the files but where do i find ie-ads.reg ? sandavis
