I ordered a dell inspiron 15 r also.  I ordered mine on July 20,2013.  I chose 3-5 day shipping as well.  When I looked up the status of my order it had 7 day shipping on the order invoice.  My estimated delivery date was August 5,2013.  I have not  received the laptop and the status of the order is still saying August 5,2013 delivery.  The status page still says "in production".  I have been in contact with a CSR and she told me that my order was waiting on a quality assessment check. Whatever that means.  She sent me an email last week on July 31,2013 with that bit of info. Needless to say, I am not a happy camper at this point.  From what I can gather, dell has very poor service when it comes to producing computers in a timely manner instigated by Dell.  It will be 3 weeks this Saturday and I have not received my order.  the info I get is because I take the initiative to find out about my order.  Dell does not take care of their customers like they should.  Oh, I forgot to mention, When I first placed the order for the laptop, the order was canceled for an "unknown" reason.  So the order number I had initially was always invalid.  Which is why I had to call and find out what was going on.  The CSR told me at that time that my order was cancelled and the order number had changed.  She gave me the new order number to follow the progress and she offered to be the point of contact for this order to keep me updated.  She has done a wonderful job letting me know whats going on so far, the problem is, I should have had my order by now and no one in the factory is giving her and update as to when it will be ready and shipped. Can you say "HIGHLY disappointed " with this service.  And to think, I was going to order another laptop this month for my son.

Thank you for sharing. All i can say is if i dont get my computer by august 14 im canceling my order and telling my bank not to pay. :) then ill probably go to bestbuy and get somethig other than dell. Atleast i wont have to wait ridicoulsy long for the cashier to ring up my order and make me happy.
