Hi ip-pondy,

Thank you for the reply.

I would suggest you to try a good known battery, to isolate the issue.

Thanks & Regards

Hi,

Ive lived with this problem for about a year, as my battery is still giving me 2 hours of life and thought that was enough as I mainly use the psu anyway on my xps15 (l502x).

was bored with the flashing orange light and the temporary failure state tonight so researched it again and amazingly have sorted it ... Here's what I did after some research and luck, any of this could be the reason for solving it :

close down and remove battery,

unplug power lead. reinsert power but no battery and fully boot

close down and re-insert battery and boot fully and close down

go into bios (a12 on my xps 15) with f2

in advanced settings change 'charger behaviour' to disabled

change boot order to hd first if not already set ....

save and exit

reboot to windows and closedown twice ... no more orange flash or temporary battery failure message

Hope this helps if you get this ...
