sounds like a failing/failed hard drive

thank you for replying !

i did as you asked and it ran the tests and i got this error message ( exact message below)

Error Code  2000-0142

Validation 22322

Msg: Hard Drive 0 - S/NJ3310081H4M89B, self test unsuccessful, Status = 7

The given error code and message can be used by Dell Technical Support to help diagnose the problem.

Hi Dell- Manshu S,

My warranty got over in september :l . so what do you suppose i do ?

Hi Faiz.k167,

Error Code 2000-0142 indicates issue with the hard drive. Hard Drive needs to be replaced.

If the system is in warranty, please send me Service Tag and name listed on the account in a private message.
