Upgrading Hard Drive in Inspiron 15r (5537)

Question

I am attempting to upgrade to a larger hard drive in this laptop using cloning software.  It has windows 8.1 installed, and uses a uefi bios.  After cloning the drive, booting from the new one works, but I am no longer able to access the Restore/Reset options from Windows.  All the partitions from the original drive have been copied to the new one.

The Dell restore partition is encrypted - it cannot be cloned.

Ahh, I see. Well, that explains the Dell restore ability, but I still can't use the built-in Windows 8 Refresh/Reset capability.  The icons for those no longer appear when I go to the 'Troubleshoot/Advanced' menu in Windows.

Try turning off the system restore function, save, and reboot.  Then turn it back on again.

Unfortunately, this suggestion made no difference.  The refresh/reset options, along with some others no longer appear in the troubleshooting screen.
