I am on the same boat as you. I ordered on November 8th and my shipping date was December 13th. However, it got delayed to December 20th. It says my estimate delivery is December 24th. I don't believe that. It will be delayed again, I’m sure of it. I am reading on other forums of people ordering as of now and getting their tablets shipped the next day. Why is everything out of order? I contacted Dell several different times and each CSR told me a different story. I don’t know what’s going on. Dell can’t fulfill orders from all the way back November, yet they are still selling the tablet on their site.
Same boat here too. Dell are selling it as a before Xmas delviery time when really its more like March 2013. Its all about money, take in the orders and payments with a false estimated delivery to catch the xmas gift sales.
Dell need to fill the backlog of order first before accepting new ones.
It's ironic that Dell has been very diligent in emailing and calling me weekly about the status of my little stylus order. Their manufacturing and fulfillment process is quite broken. They used to be much better. This seems like a company on the brink of irrelevance {at least to consumers and small businesses), just like RIM a few years ago. It is sad.
On the positive side, the company was recently acquired by its founder and others, so we can hope they will make some investment to revitalize a very tired operation.
Seems like a lot of others are in the same situation as me. I ordered 11/14 and estimated delivery date was changed several times, now set to 1/8/14 and still showing in Pre-Production. This was for a standard 5130 already received the Active stylus and Targus cover so at least we can pretend we have it.
I'm curious, did anyone order the OS Backup on USB as part of their configuration? This option has disappeared from the 5130 configuration on the website. According to CS this is the part holding up my order "As per our Support Team, the part number 620-AASW Windows 8.1 USB OS Recovery is not available at this time." I requested that they ship the USB stick separately when it came in and I was told they could not do that, I would have to wait until all parts came in. As of this morning it is still sitting in Pre-Production with estimated delivery of 1/8/14.
I ordered mine on the 15th November 2013 and was given an Estimated Delivery Date of the 27th December 2013, then I got a revised Estimated Delivery Date of the 16th January 2014. At this point I raised a request with Customer Support (not sure that "Support" is the correct term for what they offer) to cancel the order as I was not going to wait another 3 weeks, it did not get cancelled it actually shipped the next day and is now due for delivery on the 30th December 2013. It appears that unless you request cancellation then they do nothing about it.
I also ordered in 14/11 and first delivery date was 11/12/13.
Exactly AG estimated delivery date they changed the date to 31/01/14 and contacted my deal dealer about the delay, he told me that Dell delayed very many i5-orders, espacially the orders containing the USB recovery Option.
I contacted Dell support and told them that i won`t wait for further 6 weeks, i would cancel the order. Dell told me that they will talk to production to speed up the shipping process and i was granted shipping within 1 week.
And it really worked, tablet has been shipped on 19/12/13, tracking number doesnt work by now, but i think that it will work as soon as the tablet reaches Europe.
Dell has serious issues delivering parts for production of the Core-i version of the VP11, i believe they didnt calculate that high demand. Also my Dell dealer told me that prices for the VP11 raised dramatically, i ordered my i5 256GB Version for a prices at which you actually wont get the 128GB version :emotion-3:
Dell changed my order on 12/27 resulting in a new order number and a new revised estimated delivery date of 1/16/2014, this is the fourth time delivery date has changed and now is over two months from the original order date. Order still sitting in Production and CS can only say the estimated ship date is 1/15/14.

You're not alone. I still haven't got mines and I ordered over 2 months ago, no estimate date when I will get it. Really horrible!

I still didn't get my tablet yet. Anyone else get their tablet? This is definitely the last time I order a Dell product.
