The problem came back after I upgrade the nvidia driver to 340.43. I think there must be a regression in 340.43 driver.

I rolled back to 337.88 and the problem disappears.

I've observed regression as well. Same workaround, had to roll back drivers.

I tried to register the UP3214Q. It says it has already been registered, and gives me no further options. I am going to call DELL local support tomorrow, and if they haven't changed their mind, i'll contact a solicitor regarding future options. What sort of joke this is service? I got the monitor in January, and it never worked properly since day 1. I made the mistake of trusting Dell that it will be sorted out. I bought two 30" monitors from the competition, and i had no problems with them.

Really feeling your pain here. Monitor has not worked properly since day 1, to this day we have no real resolution in sight, only half-baked workarounds and speculation on hardware revisions with respect to certain hardware combinations. The support chain is both unhelpful and unprofessional.

Someone should be crucified for this.

palominoforever: yes, I noticed the same problem with the beta 340.43 driver as well. Had some crashes. Went away when I went back to 337.88.

Is it beginning to get comical. In early May I figured I'd call up dell (they claim the service tag of my original screen is out of warranty.. kinda hard to run out the three years with a device that was only launched in October.. but sense and IT don't always mix) and ask for a swap. Three exchanges later, I'm still sitting on an A00 display - the first time around the guy on the phone wouldn't believe me I needed an A01 to resolve the issue, the second time round the supporter told me we could do this exchange 10 times with an A00 and I'd keep getting the problem (that's what I said...), and the third time around I mentioned again that the second guy (even gave the name) said I needed an A01.. and guess what the UPS guy brought me today... another A00 screen. I'm getting really good ad unpacking and repacking those things and since the warranty runs until October 2016, I guess I'm in for a few more rounds. I'm not one for Greek mythology, but.. Sisyphus anyone? I even got a call today asking if the problem was resolved.. so if they keep that up (and the pace.. I got two screens this week), I'm in for a daily visit by UPS.

I have just purchased this monitor today and in around 1 hour have experienced every single problem posted on this forum, such as 1/2 display, sporadic 'power save mode' with no means of return, other than a full system power down... etc etc...

Having owned 2 previous dell monitors which where superb in every way (forget the model # but 30" 2560*1600) I am not impressed by the fact that this issue has been known since release and yet, here I am with the same issue.

I checked the back and its revision A00.

I guess the only thing to do here is send it back get a refund and go to the competition.  I have no interest in a refurbished model, regardless of 'what is refurbished'

I guess I am lucky that I just purchased it and can return it without question for a full refund, I feel for those going through constant returns because of the lack of a firmware update, which dell has provided to customers in the past for other screens.

For what could be an amazing product, reading this forum on this matter has left a sour taste for future dell purchases.

Edit: For reference sake, I am running an Asus Rampage Motherboard, Intel i73970x, Nvidia Titan Z GPU using the supplied display port cable @ dp1.2 on Windows 8.1.
Tested with both Nvidia Driver: 340.43 & 337.91

Thank you to all who have posted here you have saved me a great deal of pain I had ordered the 32 inch monitor of Dell but didn't pay as yet and asked about the firmware issue hey assured me that it had been fixed but as I see in the above post he received a Dell 32 with the old firmware. if I am going to spend over $2000.00 on a monitor it wont be a Dell and I will wait until SST replaces MST probably the end of 2014 or later and they will be cheaper as well.

Dell missed sale!!!!!  because of firmware issues that you said you had fixed.

@gmhsv8

It would be unfair of me not to clarify that I purchased via Ebuyer not Dell direct, mainly because of delivery times and additional items being purchased at the time.

Dell may well send out later fixed revisions and I just got unlucky with Ebuyer holding old stock.

I have the UP2414Q with a 780 GTX and have displayport 1.2 issues. I get a list of weird resolutions in windows 7 (see image) and when changing the resolution it doesn't scale the image (black around a 1.1 image). Whereas in displayport 1.1 mode it does scale. Is this normal? Can anyone see the normal list of resolutions with this or the bigger monitor? Is the image supposed to scale up in displayport 1.2? I also have the newer A01 revision and still get half screen issues and monitor not waking up. I'm sure this is driver related, so I would stop with the painful process of returning the monitor. We are all early adopters of 4k :(

Here is a screenshot of the options I get for screen resolutions when using displayport 1.2

Actually my revA00 UP3214Q stared to work all of a sudden - after I upgraded from EVGA GTX 670 4GB to EVGA GTX780 Ti Super-Clocked 3GB. The MB is an asus P8Z68-V Pro.

I had split screen issues and wake up issues with the GTX670. The latest 338 driver release took care of 60% of them. After I upgraded to the 780Ti for the first few cold boots it took 15 minute or so but after I clean-re-installed the nvidia 338 drivers everything worked magically. I have wake up issues now 1 out of 10 or 2 out of 10, but other than that everything just seemed to jel. Not to mention the 780Ti speed up everything display related (screen refresh, etc) by a factor of at least 2X.

I somehow wonder if most of the 338 driver development/testing with the 4K changes were done on Titan/780Ti class of display card mostly....

And by now it is obvious to me even though the 6-series and the 7-series are both said to support 4K displays, the 7-series seemed to have a lot more baked-in...

thought all the people who are suffering from the UP3214Q issues (and cannot return it anymore) found this info useful. 780Ti is not a cheap display card but certainly considered "affordable" for those who could afford a UP3214 in the first place...

pxl9190 are you seeing weird resolutions when using displayport 1.2? As described in my previous post?

I do get the same list. This is a fact by design when you use MST/DP1.2, at least the version on the 3214. The Dell MST 4K displays are not known to scale a good chunk of frequently used resolution (2560x1600, 1920x1200) when using DP1.2. Some folks claimed it can be done on linux but not window...that I ain't too sure.

I order mine in june but still got the rev 00 I have not read all pages, but has ANYONE been able to do 60p in 3840x2160 on this monitor?

...has ANYONE been able to do 60p in 3840x2160 on this monitor?

You mean "...having Intel HD"? Because, having 780Ti, monitor works fine for me.

I've yet to hear a testimony from someone who has gotten 3840x2160 @ 60 Hz (DP 1.2) working properly at all with an Intel HD graphics chipset.

AMD and NVIDIA users seem to still have issues, with DP 1.2 usable despite sporadic issues when changing resolutions and/or coming back from standby, among others.

so who is to blame about split screens, strange resolutions,Wake up problems, fps goes back to 29hz even in 1360x768 res, connecting an USB 3.0 Cable to the monitor makes the monitor go nuts! and why should not intel work with the dell monitor? This is my 2 dell monitor, I had a u2711 rev 00, and not until rev A11 was all the bugs where gone, do I have to wait this long again? http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/peripherals/f/3529/t/19339056.aspx?pi23185=1
