Yes, I believe you are, if you look really really closely inbetween the lines you'll see that he's saying that he has had past experiences with the IXPS. Well he could be saying something else, but I know he has and that's what I'm guessing he's saying. I could be totally wrong though. ; )

Wow. I'm definitely missing it then! HELP!
at any rate, I hope i'm lucky enough to get an ixps built in 4 days. Are all dell notebooks now made in the USA? The last one I ordered from Dell was an 8200 which was built in Malaysia.
As far as I know, all Dell Notebooks are manufactured overseas. They may perhaps be configured (hard drive, video card, ram, etc.) stateside, but I am not sure. I'm pretty sure my 5150 was drop shipped from malaysia as I didn't get a tracking number until after the unit was delivered, BTW the system was still "in testing" while it was in my hands, if that says anything.
As far as the cryptic message, look for the smiley face. That poster had all the right info on the XPS and 9100 before they were released, if that tells you anything.
So.... my original question still stands :) Has anyone even gotten one of these yet through the standard ordering process, and how long did it take?
As a side question, does anyone know when the next-generation video card will be available for it? I assume there simply ISN'T any better right now, and we're waiting for ATI or Nvidia to release one. Anyone know what's on the horizon from either of these two companies?

I too believe that all Dell comptuers are mainly made oversees. I remember a large post all about the building/shipping process.

Is there a way of determining where your laptop is being built? :)
