How did you find out which engineer was building your system? Can you just call up and ask? I find it hard to believe Dell would be that open about that information!

I was just notified that my system is being boxed, o lets target this time from right now 2:15 PM Arizona time to the day it is shipped. I dont want to cause a stirr of egos or anything, I was just told my system is built in the USA and not overseas
I ordered mine via our employer discount as well (Citigroup).
I see no such option. I have never seen such an option with any of the systems i've ever ordered from Dell. Can you post a screenshot or something and blank out anything sensitive? Maybe i'm looking at a completely different order status page than you are?
When I went to the website and checked the order status, the Engineer that is working on my system is listed in the status page who is building my system.
Now maybe because i am using my Employer discount we have that option to see who is building the system but that is what I have on my order
The information I was giving was somewhat incorrect, it isnt the Engineer building the system, rather the sales person, however, I was told this system is built in the USA. We shall see says the blind man. Give me an email addy to send the pic too.
The laptops are barebone cases that include the motherboard, minus the screen, processor, ram and maybe the V/C, that are made in Asia. They are shipped to America where they add the rest of the stuff into the case. Hope that clears it up!

The "measurement" of where it is being built will be indicated by the amount of time spent in "boxing".

I would put money on those machines having a label on the bottom that says "Made in Malaysia" (or Taiwan or China).

Sure, Ill have to do this at home then.
