None of this is working for me at all.  Ugghh this is so frustrating.

I have tried the video driver updates and the elimination of the video switching in the bios.  I am running Intel i7 with CAD and this keeps freezing up and hanging after every few key strokes.  Any more ideas or just another laptop?

New laptop sounds so much easier at this point - no time for this.

Thanks!

Although this post is a bit old, I've discovered that further clarification is in order.  Firstly, thank you, ATOMKV, for your extremely helpful and insightful information.  Secondly, upon reloading the OS (or laying a new image on the hard drive) you must first go into F2/System Setup and enable Switchable Graphics in order to have the Intel HD Graphics as an option.  Then install the driver for the Intel graphics first, followed by the add-in card's drivers.  After this, you can disable the Switchable Graphics in F2/System Setup if you prefer.  It appears that the pre-imaged drive already has the Intel Graphics driver/device available and functional from the factory.  However, the Switchable Graphics option may be disabled from the factory also.  Personally, this is what I've found on many of the Mobile Precision Workstations that I've reloaded (upon receiving them from the factory).

There is no such settings in the Bios. I have the latest Bios. I have a i7 core and I know it has graphics built in.
