what do you mean "how can you get ..."?

those are a little old, I have seen de-overclocked and am running at 260/550 and I notice better performance with zero texture corrupted or tearing. And the graphics card never gets above 140* F.  At idle its around 122* F. Maybe the 64 MB ram is faster than the 32 MB ram?

What happens when you go higher than 260/490?

btw, here are my benchmarks: http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=7088102

I got 3948 in 3Dmark 2001 (overclocked) I was using catalyst 3.7 for the moment.
I think the score is a little bit low.

I will get my Quadro 4 700 about some days.
I dont know what drivers which is bestfor this card (probably not the drivers from Dell). anyone who have a idea about drivers good drivers for the Quadro?

hi

Davevtran..

i5150 - 512mb ddr ram - radeon 9000 64mb oclocked

3dmark2001se - 8066

I paid extra cash to "upgrade" my 5150 to the geforceFX5200.. and even with drastic OC, I could not break 8000...

Dell should be slapped silly for that... the 5200FX is a "DOWNGRADE" dell, can you say that? (even worse with the A25 bios.)

Only three probs with Quadro700 GL GO.

1. No DX9.. even though the 5200go isn't fast enough to use them, it does have some DX9 features.
2. No version of the Quadro I am are of is compatable with the 5150's vid card format.
3. Quadro is much more expensive then a 9600 based card would be, and for desknote uses, its not as effective as a 9600 would be..
(Quadro is an Nvidia card for 3d workstations, more of benefit to CAD users then gamers, its fine for DX8, but already outperformed by the 8600's geforce FX5650 for DX8.1 and the 5650 has DX9 also...)

Those are 3 of the many reasons I started that petition thing in the first place..

I hope you guys are behind it... its gotten some press now, the links to stories are in my sig..

davevtran - not that I don't believe you but could you post some specs? and the compare link? I have heard that the R9000m out-perfoms the Geforce4 440 Go but I didn't think it outperformed it by that much...I mean 2000 points is a lot and even with major over-clocking I can hardly break the 6000...so what gives? Do you have Centrino?

::: Edit: I Just was searching through the "Compare Scores" on Futuremark's site and noticed that there is a Geforce4 488 card which is 8X AGP. Thanks Dell.

I need a desktop.

skidderhome,

Dell has no systems that offer the Mobility Fire GL video card.

Does anyone know if Dell has ever offered any of Mobility Fire GL chips in their laptops?

if i run mine over 260/490 the 3dmark2001 has graphic glitches. maybe the 64mb does have better RAM than the 32mb card. figures!

ahaha, yeah 3.0 Ghz would definitely be able to get a score advantage over a 1.7...:)
