Me too. Received venue 'free' with purchase of laptop. Free so figured I try it. I use both a Samsung Tab and an iPad 3. The Venue was intriguing for about a day as a played around with it. Now it won't turn on even though connected to power for a while and still won't turn on. Maybe tine to put away and pretend I never received the  thing :) !

(I had this issue this morning. Aggravating! Since there were no answers that worked on this dialog, I looked up another and found a solution that at least worked for me. If the Venue won't power on, and you know it's charged, hold the power button for 20 seconds, then hold it down again for 1 second. It should boot normally after that.)

This other alternative worked but I had to press it individually twice and hold it for 2-3 seconds after my steady 20 sec hold.

I was having the same problem.  I went in the bios and disabled C-State.  It hasn't happen since. Maybe a future bio update will solve this problem.  I haven't noticed and difference in battery life.

I this problem of my system showing the charging light but will not come. it continued until the charging light was no more coming on likewise the tablet. I tried all the suggestions i read but non of them worked. finally my mind went to the device charger. the device charger was doing as if it was charging the device but didnt .

I suggest that if you have this issue please try buying another dell venue pro 11 charger, if possible dont buy the one produced by dell, but buy the one with the same specification with the charger. I bought a different charger with the same specs as my original dell charger and it brought back my dell tab back to life after 7month of thinking it was bad.

Thank you!  that seemed to do the trick.  Glad to see I'm not the only one having these issues!

I am also having this problem. I tried using it yesterday, but it wouldn't turn on. after an hour of leaving it on charge, it finally turned on, and said that my time and date was wrong. I changed the time, and then continued to use it. After 20 minutes of using it I put it to sleep. Then the next day I tried using it again, and the same thing happened. I left it on charge for several hours, and now it won't turn on. Sometimes it will display the dell logo on the screen, and then it will shut down again.

To clarify for anyone reading this in the future:

The HDD is not a HDD, it's a solid state drive. It's also not on the motherboard, it's plugged in to an m.2m port. Replacing the motherboard does not have to involve replacing the hard drive.

You rock! I have 7 of these in my classroom and constantly have this problem. The only other way that worked was to let it sit and wait for the battery to completely die. This took about a month!!your way is much better and worked the 1st time. Thanks

Very old issue.  But just happened to me yesterday. 4/11/2017.  Normally if I let my battery run too low.  I'll have to randomly do a series of letting it charge/holding power button.  This time none of that worked.  I let it charge overnight, next day the same thing.  Unplug, battery out, battery back in, plug, hold power button.  It will vibrate but nothing else will happen.

Finally my solution this time was to pulled the CMOS battery.  I left it unplugged.  Plugged my charger in, no battery at all (CMOS or Main battery), it powers on!

Everything working fine now.  The trick really is to not let this tablet run low or out of battery.  It starts to do some strange stuff.

I thought I give an updated reply since this issue is from 2014, but I was searching for answers yesterday, 2017.

Well...pretty sure mine's fully dead.  No light when I plug it in.  Put a USB meter on it (one capable of reading the 19.5v...I've used it before) and it shows 5V @ .02A.  So it's not pulling any power. Owned that POS for < 2 years and get no support.  $500+ down the drain.  Never buying another Dell...should have known better in the first place...should have known there was a reason they were so much cheaper than the surface.
