Outlook has the ability to "learn" which addresses are obsolete. Right click on the ones you no longer want to show and delete them. BTW, You should mention which version of Outlook you have when posting. There are vast differences between versions. Second question: Outlook doesn't use the address book as such. You have to import the OE addresses into Contacts in Outlook for it to work properly.
I right clicked on the name after I started to type in the first name and 5-6 names came up in a box but nothing happens. At what point do I need to right click?
Regarding those obsolete entries, try this:
When you see them on the drop down list use the down arrow key on your keyboard to scroll down to one so that it is highlighted. Then hit the "delete" key on your keyboard. See if that does it.

- Select the unwanted name using the UP ARROW or DOWN ARROW. (I've found that right clicking works, too)
- Press DELETE.
This is from Outlook's help under "Auto complete."
