Just a word of advice:

If it isn't broken do not fix it. If  your current set up works, leave it alone.

I am getting Intell 2200 to replace my TM 1300 and the only reason is that I am hopping for a better and more reliable connection.

almer - do you prefer the Intel 2200 to the TM 1300?

What problems are you having with the TM 1300?

I generally find the TM 1300/1400 cards to have far better range & signal strength than the Intel Pro (2100/2200) equivalents...

It's difficult to find comprehensive detailing of the updates for the TM1300 and TM1400 to compare precisely, but we can make some pretty good guesses right now.

I can't find a 1300 / 1400 spec that's not outdated.

However, many of the 'features' improved in 1350 / 1450 are available in the 1300 / 1400 with the recent driver patch [although many people are having problems with this I gather. I did a whole series of firmware/driver/os patches at once, with a grand series of reboots and reconfigs just because it was too big a change for me to expect any settings to save correctly, and didn't have any problems after all the upgrades], per the readme.txt:

"README for Release R76521"
...
"This driver release supports the Dell Wireless 1350 and 1450 series adapters, with support for CCX2.0, and Single Sign-on, and includes equivalent upgrades to the Dell TrueMobile 1300 and 1400 series adapters."

And I know this update installed the aegis / 802.11x stuff, and their Xpress (although it didn't enable it by default in the driver settings), as well as a number of other support bits I found installed but not active in mjy situation.

The 1350 / 1450 fairly-recent data
Supposedly 1300,1350,1400,1450
But the power usage matches the 1300/1400 listings, but not the 1350/1450 pdf information.

If you wander around here: http://www.54g.org/site_guide.php
You'll see a lot of the stuff broadcom is implementing across the board.
If I had to guess from all the little tidbits of information, it looks like the 1350/1450 use this new lower-standby-power hardware, and probably just an improved generation of chip/board design. And they reference hardware encryption capabilities for AES which may only be on the newer cards.

Hopefully I didn't just ramble that on too much, I've been running around between web windows trying to find any little hints. It certainly doesn't look like a big enough change to bother with trying to upgrade the hardware until there's some significantly improved option.
