No, I wouldn`t use a screw driver, we might end up with a bigger problem.
You will need a flashlight and a paperclip to fix it. Unfold a paperclip and straighten one end. Take the flashlight and look for a tiny hole in or around the door. Insert the paperclip gently and it will trigger the door open mechanism.
Thank you! Unfortunately it didn't work. There were no holes, just 3 slight indentations on the top. I used the clip anyway, but no dice. I could HEAR something happening inside but that's all. Makes me want to pry the whole dang door off but...

If it's broken, you can replace it with a new DVD burner for $15. Use promo code EMCPHHB23 at checkout.
In the meantime, if you have a disk stuck in the broken drive, I'm assuming the drawer can be pried out with a screwdriver.

Hi Sugarbear 18,
Thank you! Unfortunately it didn't work. There were no holes, just 3 slight indentations on the top. I used the clip anyway, but no dice. I could HEAR something happening inside but that's all. Makes me want to pry the whole dang door off but...
Thanks again.
