No manufacturer covers screen damage under warranty - it's accidental damage. And it doesn't take much force, applied however, to crack a screen - it's just a thin piece of glass.
You would be just as unhappy with any other system and manufacturer -- no one covers this.

I agree. You can always attach an external monitor to the laptop. It will work fine without a laptop screen.
