I even tried using the "black only" option under printer features: http://screencast.com/t/j0vsvhj9LkOD

The link leads to a short 1 min-ish screen capture of the problem to maybe get someone to help me? I know Dell won't but maybe someone here has a workaround?

Komentra,

The Dell Series 21. 22 ink cartridges have a sensor in them that cannot be reset. If one of the sensors in the cartridge(s) are too low, it will prevent the printer from printing, even if the setting is set to print using Black(or color) Only.

Articles I have are...

Cleaning the Printhead on Dell AIO V313w, V515w, V715w, P513w, and P713W Printers

Troubleshooting Printhead Problems on the Dell AIO V313w, V515w, V715w, P513w, and P713W Printers

The Printer Does Not Recognize the Ink Cartridge or Only Prints in One Color

And here is a Replacement Printhead if needed.

Komentra,

Many printer manufacturers are now using sensors, so you get to purchase the ink from them.

I use the high capacity ink cartridges, they cost a few dollars more, and they last a longer time.

Seems kind of like a gimmick to sell more ink cartridges. :emotion-12:

Thanks for the response., it's much appreciated. I was trying to wrap my head around what could be going on because I tried various Operating System's as well and it kept saying add a color cart.
