V5.1 Management Pack Clarification: Installation, Software Requirements, Out Of Band & Dell Connections Licence Manager
Hey Guys,
Just after some clarification on the installation of the 5.1 management pack.
We have a requirement for in band and out of band monitoring of the server hardware.
The majority of the out of band monitored servers are 12G which is good, is there a monitoring solution for other earlier generation servers?
In-Band - Software Prerequisites :
- OMSA - Server Administrator
Does Server Administrator need to be installed on each management server or just one? We have alot of management servers in our environment..
Out-Of-Band - Software Prerequisites:
- Dell Connections License Manager
Just to confirm, the Licence Manager does not need to be installed directly on the management server? We just point the SCOM Server at the URL of the licence server, correct?
Should we create a separate resource pool for out of band monitoring?
Regarding the upgrade of the management pack, we do fit the prerequisites for the MP upgrade.. Would we just remove the old dell MP's and install the new ones through the SCOM Console?

I just tried installing the DRAC Tools on one of my management servers. The option for the toolset is not coming up.
I believe this is due to the fact that it considers the server as unmanaged and the option is not appearing. How would I get this on a server, it is virtual running on a ESX Cluster so I dont know how I can trick the installer to think that it is managed.
Any Help would be appreciated
