Is it default monitor profile? the one that came with your monitor CD srtup program.
Since it is generic could you upload it to a prublic direct download server? It's easy to inspect if its boken. If broken and re-run installation of S2240 driver does not help, ask Dell for default RGB primaries and gamma embebed in the profile so you can make an equivalent Synthetic profile with DispcalGUI/ArgyllCMS. Other option is to read that information from EDID but I'm not sure i sthis task is "noob proof".
Try first to upload "broken profile" to a public server for inspection.
Yes, it is the default monitor profile. I have also just noticed that when opening pics in 'Photo Gallery', they have a yellowish tinge. But they look fine if opened with 'Photos'. This has all happened since upgrading to 8.1 - could this have changed my settings?
-reinstalled monitor driver from CD or Dell download ad if after that profile seems broken, iploaded it for inspection
-create an EDID profile and uploaded it for inspection
No profile no support because I do not know what are RGB primaries or gamma for for S Dell, and Dell comunity manager has not posted that info in this thread.
Thanks for your help. I re-installed the driver from the original CD and no longer get the warning message. I assume the driver must have been corrupted in some way. Sorry, I tried attaching it here but just hung for ages.

You have not:
-uploaded the profile for inspection
-reinstalled monitor driver from CD or Dell download ad if after that profile seems broken, iploaded it for inspection
-create an EDID profile and uploaded it for inspection
