Provide detail on what is connected to the monitor audio out jack. Is the computer being restarted after you disable DP1.2 or are you simply playing audio and doing the DP1.2 disable? I think a computer restart is required to initialize the DP audio once the DP switch has been made.
DP1.2 is on and audio is working. Turn the audio off, then disable DP1.2. Then turn the audio back on. So turning the monitor off/on is also re-initializing the DP audio. This is working as designed.
No idea. Get Technical Support for your country to replace it. When the replacement arrives, set it up and test it on the same computer.
If the replacement monitor does not have the issue, box up the original monitor and send it to Dell.
If you have the same issue on the second monitor, the fault is not with our monitors. Two monitors with the same fault, not likely. Then box up and return the replacement monitor and keep the original.
Then look to the computer audio settings as the culprit.

We have connected a speaker to monitor
We simply play the audio after we disable DP 1.2
The other thing i noticed is that the sound comes properly after we switch-off and then switch on the monitor after disabling DP1.2
What could be the reason for this Please explain

reboot doesn't solve the issue after switching from DP1.2 to 1.1, the only way is power off->on monitor
Why is the audio not coming up even after rebooting the system?
