wordperfect/Stedmans question

Question

Has anyone else tried to do this: Run wordperfect 5.1 and Stedmans Spellchecker 3.0 (medical spellcheck program) under Windows XP Home? I can get WP to run ok, but I get an error 1001 when I try to spellcheck, which means that WP can't find the Stedmans files. I am pointing WP to the correct folder for the Stedmans files, but WP doesn't see them. I know the obvious answer is to upgrade to a later WP, but that is not an option. Would a later version of Stedmans help (7.0 or 8.0)? The system is a Dimension 2400, 2.4G Celeron, 128M, 80Gig HDD NTFS, Windows XP Home. Thanks for any input. Michael

It probably would help to get a newer version if you have the latest version of WP on your system.  Are you aware that WP11 can operate in classic mode as though it were WP5.1?  And you also can read and write WP5.1 docs in that native format.

No, I did not know about the classic mode in WP 11. I did know that documents will open ok. Thanks, I'll try the classic mode approach.
