In order to use UEFI boot, you must have a GPT-partitioned disc -- which you do not, if you upgraded from Windows 7.
You must install Windows 8 clean and in GPT mode in order to make this work - meaning, backup your data and start over.

The only way to change from MBR to GPT is indeed to start over.

Thanks for the answer ejn63. I don't want this at this time, so i came to the blog in search for a different answer, i think than i do not want to believe that i have to erase my notebook.
