I work at a homeless shelter and need advice on direct x 9 wddm driver

We are running xp in in 3 old dell 2400, It doesn't have the wddm drivers to up grade to win 8.1 in the xp. is the wddm drivers something I can download if I can use Win 8.1. I also need to add a gig of memory to handle 8.1. can anyone tell me what memory I need also. It's a matter of money, its always a problem.

Hi JBander,

Is this a Dimension 2400? That's a lot older than 3 years. Have you considered upgrading to Windows 7?

Dell 2400 is 9 years or more old.   WDDM 1.2 drivers require a newer video card.

You can get a machine with windows 7 for less that an inferior PCI card.   Optiplex 620 Towers will run XP to windows 8.1 in 32 bit mode.
