It seems like the default speaker is not getting enabled after you disconnect the headphone. Please follow the steps below to enable the default speaker.
1. Click on the Start button and open the Control Panel.
2. Once in the Control Panel, change your view to either large icons or Small icons. Look for ‘Sound’ icon and open it.
3. Click on ‘Playback’ tab.
4. Select ‘Speakers’ and click on ‘properties’ button.
5. Click on ‘General’ tab under the device usage select ‘Use this device’ and click on OK.
Is audio jack of inspiron 1525 is a part of mother board?
Yes, it is not a user-replaceable part in the Inspiron 1525.
Re-install your Sigmatel audio driver as suggested by sagmart. [Go to the Inspiron 1525 downloads page. Select your operating system -- either XP or Vista, then expand the Audio category.]
If that does not fix the problem then either the speakers have failed (or become disconnected) or the impedance sensor in the headphone jack has failed.
If you do hear the beeps then the problem is probably in the headphone jack. See section 5 of the Headphone Jack FAQ for a workaround solution for the E1705 model. It might not work for the 1525 model but you could give it a try.

To test the speakers, run the PSA tests and purposely fail the color test. If you do not hear the beeps then the problem is in the speakers (or connection).
