Blue screen when trying to reinstall windows

I am trying to reinstall windows XP media center on my Dell dimension E510, during the install the message I got was:

If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your computer, if this screen appears again, follow these steps.

Disable or uninstall any antivirus, disc fragmentation, or backup utilities, check your hard drive configuration, and check for any updated drivers. Run CHDSK / F to check for hard drive corruption and then restart your computer.

The hard drive may have failed.

stop: 0x00000024  is an NTFS file system error.

You should start by getting a new drive.

This issue means a problem occurred within the Ntfs.sys file. The Ntfs.sys file is the driver file that enables your computer to read and write to NTFS partitions. It means damage in the NTFS file system, damaged portions of your hard disk, and there is no Soft Fix for this.
