If this is a new system, call for warranty repair. If it's really an Inspiron 1100, it's more like 10 years old (perhaps more) -- what is the exact system model?

Best bet is to contact Dell for a warranty repair (or take it back to Office Depot, if they have technical support for systems that are sold there).

I tried to update the BIOS but unalbe to due to having only 1% of batterys
