Dual 1901FP - Colors don't match

Question

Have a 7 month old 1901FP, just purchased a second one. Colors don't match between them. The older LCD has lost some blue, so grey looks brown, and whites aren't as bright.  Have swapped everything, video cards, cables, etc. & still don't match.  Colors on the new one match my 2 year old Inspiron 8100. Tech Support shipped me a refurb unit.  (Serial number indicates it's older than my original.)  Colors on refurb still don't match the new one or my 8100. Running an Nvidia Quadro 280 with dual DVI, but have tested VGA too.

RGB can be adjusted, and there is are presets to try. Maybe the older one is set "warm". Hope this helps. Dual 19" LCD should be awesome...

Thanks for the 'warm' idea! But I've been through all of the settings and have spent a number of hours tinkering with the RGB & brightness controls (and color correction in the display adapter) trying to get them to match.

What if you switch connections? That's all I can think of now, maybe the panel backlights are different colors. Is the older panel under warranty?

There are some good free tools you can use to display test patterns here:

Launch the calibrator tool from the bottom of the page, it's not going to solve your problem, but may be useful while making adjustments.

I would also try switching cables and connections and see if you can isolate the issue to a particular component. Perhaps the newer moinitor has a newer revision firmware and that is what the issue is? Keep us posted.
