but I'm sure the manufacturing warranty for the hard drive exists through Dell.
* Incorrect. The hardware component warranty period is only as long as the originally purchased system warranty period. All hardware sold through Dell only use the purchased warranty period. The vendors manufacturer warranty do not apply.

The manufacturer warranty would only apply if you had bought the hard disk drive from Best Buy or some other retailer.

So if you bought a system warranty from 11/1/11 to 11/1/14, and we replaced the hard disk drive on 10/1/14, the warranty on the hard disk drive would end on 11/1/14.

I am the op. I would like to retract my statement. I have come to realize this is a good update and to trust windows and their (free) updates. I love you microsoft :).

    Hello,

I had my hard drive replaced. Since then my warranty expired but I'm sure the manufacturing warranty for the hard drive exists through Dell. The manufacturer said I should talk to Dell about replacing the part based on the part's model and serial numbers. I'm sure the warranty still exists somewhere between Dell, the manufacturer, and me. Can someone please assist me by finding out if there is a manufacturer's warranty for the replaced part?

    Best regards,

    Austin
