Depends. I see they offer a backlit option on some of the 5547s. Your motherboard may have the power cable port for the backlighting, but the only way to know for sure is to take off your current keyboard and look. Hopefully this helps!

Hi erik1957,
Dell Inspiron 5547/15 is shipped with a Chiclet style keyboard. You do have backlit keyboard which is optional for this particular model.

Thanks man, i remove the keyboard and i seen the cable port, of course no wire is connected to it, so u think a backlit will work?

I think you got it from dude dell inspiron 5547 has the backlit option.

If your motherboard does have the port, you should be able to upgrade to a backlit keyboard. However, this is not a guarantee.
