Having the same problem! Purchased mine in March 2014.  Did you get a solution?

I waited on hold for 30 minutes and finally spoke with a Dell tekkie yesterday and received a dispatch # to return the tablet for repair.

Was told that these units only require max 4hr to recharge and if you leave it plugged into a power source for too long over time static can build up on the motherboard causing this problem.

They were actually pretty awesome.  Received a prepaid Purolater box this morning to return it and they said I should get it back within a week.  They also gave me a direct phone # 1-800-308-3355 and email Dell_Support_NAE950@Dell.com if I have any questions.  I'm in Canada so not sure if this information will be helpful to you.

Good luck with yours.

I have the same problem - Got mine in June. This morning, it will not turn on. I charged it with the charger that came with the device and it will not turn on at all. I can't get it to turn on plugged in either, it should work plugged in, shouldn't it?? This has happened once before when I let the device get completely drained on a trip and I tried to charge it in the car with a USB. I figured that it wasn't getting enough juice since it was completely drained. This is so frustrating! All my Dell information is in the device, my account # and everything.

Thanks for posting the contact info for us GWN'ers. Now that is something I can definitely keep for the same issue that my V8 is exhibiting. I'm rather sceptical about the "leaving it plugged in too long will develop static build up  on the MB" but whatever.

This is what I was replying to.  I didn't realize that clicking on "reply" wasn't sufficient for their forum to recognize that I was submitting a "reply"...

Sorry.

I had the same problem.

My contact info was similar to what you were provided, but the email was "..._NAE953...".  I don't know if that's specific to US, but that's where I'm located.

We returned our unit twice, each time explaining that the port for the charger was not stable.  The plug would fall out of the unit if it was just slightly jostled in any way while charging.  Each time they replaced the motherboard and sent it back.  The third time, they sent a replacement device.  It's a refurbished model, replacing the brand new one we bought two months ago.

I am unimpressed.  A refurb is not what I originally ordered, and it's not what we paid for.  Anyway, I don't want to discourage you, but rather warn you.  I would be very clear about your issue and what you expect from them.

No more Dell for me.
