Try to remove Ram and battery first, and then turn on with direct power supply.
disconnect the AC adapter,remove the battery,press and hold down power button for 30 seconds.Reconnect the battery and AC adapter,try to turn on system.If it doesn't work the first time you try,try it couple of more times and see if it helps.
1. Tried, but still the same result. 2 LEDs blink every 5 seconds.

3. Will try, but a bit skeptical as i think the damage occurred to the laptop and not to the adapter. Also, note that trying to power the system only on battery produced the same blinking.
