If you have the 9530 with the WQXGA display you could have screen resolutions as high as 3200 x 1800.  At this resolution the default Windows Fonts, dialog boxes and buttons may look pretty small.

Microsoft has a couple of articles that may be of some help, Get the best display and Change font size.

Please report back here if you continue to have difficulties.

Hi Terry  I have the same issue with my new xps 15 SSD and I tried your recommendation however it does not help to change the size of the pop up windows, it only recommends to use th enative (recommended ) resolution which anyway I am using, please help as the pop up windows are actually unreadable, it also happens when starting outlook, that window that appears when outlook is starting is basically unreadable

Depending on what LCD was ordered with the XPS 9530, native resolutions can be as high as 3200x1080 or even 3840x2160.  Unfortunately with a display as small as the 15.6 inch display on the XPS 15 with these resolutions images are going to look very small by default, possibly unreadably small.

From the Microsoft guide there are instructions for making text and other items larger

  1. Open Screen Resolution by swiping in from the right edge of the screen, tapping Search (or if you're using a mouse, pointing to the upper-right corner of the screen, moving the mouse pointer down, and then clicking Search), entering Make text larger in the search box, and then tapping or clicking Make text and other items larger or smaller
  2. Drag the slider until the items in the preview image are the size you want them to be.
  3. Tap or click Apply

If you continue to have problems with dialog boxes and other images they may be options in the programs itself in increase font size and so forth.

If nothing else seems to help and you can’t stand how small items appear on the screen you can try lowering the resolution.  Try 1920 x 1080 which tends to be the default resolutions on many programs today and see if that helps.
