Yes, that is the correct part number. However, you may not be able to upgrade to a backlit keyboard unless you have the proper power connection on the motherboard. Even if you are able to upgrade, the backlighting may not function properly.
I spoke with tech support, probably a lower level tech support, and they said there are different motherboards, and with a refurb, it may or may not have the correct connections to upgrade the keyboard
After doing more research, it looks like the chance of it not working is very small. As long as you have the power port for the backlighting it should work. I have googled "Dell backlight keyboard upgrade" and have read from others experiences.

I'm curious, did you get this resolved? I bought a 5748 that was SUPPOSED to have a backlit keyboard and the spec sheet states it does... but it does not.
