This is related to the IE11 and balloon tips issue.
Open Internet Explorer, click on Help, then click on About Internet Explorer. It should show the version there. If you have IE11, then go to control panel, Windows Update, Installed Updates, look for Internet Explorer 11. Click on Internet Explorer 11, uninstall.
Restart the computer, when prompted. Then see if your printer works.
The other option is to turn off the balloon tips for the printer.
Start, control panel, devices and printer, your printer, printing preferences, advanced, more options. Tell it to never show. The problem with this setting is you cannot tell if you're low on ink, printer jams, Etc.
Since the response you got was essentially "wait it out," let me suggest:
Temporarily disabling your antivirus software.
I had your same problem. Printing just stopped, none of the suggestions worked. It would print a page, or a page and a half, etc., etc., then I would have to restart. I spent 4 hours trying to print 4 documents. UNTIL I read somewhere else that somebody having a similar problem (though not identical) solved it by disabled his McAfee firewall. I didn't have McAfee or a third-party firewall, but I did have AVG Antivirus. Temporarily disabling that and windows firewall worked completely. I turned windows firewall back on and it still works.
Shoot. It started happening again. It was going really well for a time, but no longer. I didn't mention before (I'm sure you guessed) but I've got a Windows 7 64-bit system. Inspiron N5110. I did the whole spiel again (print queue purge, removing the drivers manually, reinstall with Vista compatibility, nix out the print dialog messages) but it's currently got it's teeth sunk into the second page of a print job I just started. I had done some updates to Windows and other programs so I checked to see if IE sneaked back onto my system, but no dice. Do you have any alternative solutions for me?
There have been storms recently. Power off your ISP modem/router, wireless router(if any for 60 seconds, then power them back on.
Restart your computer.
Unplug your printer for 60 seconds, then plug it back in.
Wait about 2 minutes, then try and see if everything works. Power outages, even a power flicker can cause communications problems with wireless devices.
No dice. I tried powering everything down (modem, router, printer, computer) for a few minutes, plugged the printer into the computer (I haven't bothered to set up the wireless printing quite yet), powered the modem and router on, and powered the two machines on, and tried another job. Halfway through the third page it halted again. Let me know if you have any other ideas.
The print job(s) spool on the computer you're using. If the print job(s) are large size, then printing will take longer. I have already sent a print job and there were pauses in between printing pages. I sent the same print job on another computer and it printed normally. Sometimes you have to be patient.
Sorry for the delay. Haven't needed to print anything for a while. It worked the first time and I just wanted to make sure it would work a few more times in a row. I did have AVG, so whenever the job would halt, I'd "Temporarily disable" it and the job would finish. Thank you and thank you Rick for all your help. Keep up the good work.

Rick,
Thank you for the quick response. I tried both just to be safe, and it seems to have done the trick. You're my hero.

Chemerinsky,
Yes, some virus programs and firewalls are great at blocking printer communications.

Steve,
Glad you got it working! Thanks for posting back. AVG can be a problem with printer communications. You may want to read...
