Thanks. But I think it's not correct. Everywhere I look she's a four foot or longer cord, a black box in the middle, wall plug at one end and two inch silver end to goes into the laptop. No cable end or USB output end. Yours says, "Description more[+] This is a genuine Dell replacement Direct Current Input Jack with Cable for the Dell Vostro A860, Vostro 1015, and Inspiron 1470 Laptops/Notebooks." I found a couple on Amazon plus a few elsewhere. I'm leery of buying from China at &5 or $59.99 U.S. Sounds too high. !i figured Dell would would be safer and stand behind their product
Thanks. I'll go check it out. I think what I had was the setup for my older laptop. I want to buy a whole new setup. When maintenance unplugged all, my older card may have been there unknown to me. I'll match serial numbers from the cord to my computers and see if I have a match.
Got both cords today. The wall part plugged in fine, the laptop part plugged in fine. All lights were on. It's now recharging overnight so tomorrow afternoon I'll be able to see if it worked. I also got the two cheapies I'd ordered but one won't work as it is clearly labelled for a different model. The other has a two-prong connection to the middle, not three, but otherwise the part numbers match up. For $5.95 I'll keep it if it works. An extra will be handy, just in case.

Presumably, you're looking for the DC power jack.
For the 1470, it's
< >
For the 5423, it's

Those parts are internal to the system so some disassembly is required.

Your description stated that you HAVE the AC adapter, but if it's what you're looking for:
